Release notes
The widget alignment screen drops its OK/Cancel buttons: adjust the position, then leave however you like — gesture, back button, or the arrow at the top left — and it saves itself and refreshes the widget background.
All 18 releases of Toolbox.
The widget alignment screen drops its OK/Cancel buttons: adjust the position, then leave however you like — gesture, back button, or the arrow at the top left — and it saves itself and refreshes the widget background.
Alignment screen fixes: the OK/Cancel buttons are no longer hidden behind the navigation bar. A new Margin option (0–16dp, default 8dp) crops the frame and the blurred background to the widget's actual visible size, so it no longer sits flush against the grid lines.
The GitHub widget now works through a linked account. Tap Link GitHub account in the app and confirm the code on GitHub; several accounts can be linked, and repositories — private ones included — are chosen per account.
Access is read-only and the token is stored encrypted on the device. No username is hard-coded any more.
On first use, install Toolbox Widgets on the account you want to watch.
New GitHub repository widget: for each repository you choose, it shows the latest release, the most recent Actions result (✓ passed / ✕ failed / ● running), the last push time and the open issue count. Tapping a repository opens it in the browser.
Repositories are picked from your public ones and reordered by dragging. The refresh interval is configurable, and requests carry an ETag — unchanged data costs nothing against the GitHub rate limit.
Cycle countdowns show only the time remaining, no longer the exact reset time.
A cycle countdown's row reddens as the cycle runs down: almost clear at the start, deepest just before the reset, clear again once it rolls over.
Reordering is now done by dragging. Exchange rate pairs and routine entries have a six-dot handle at the start of the row; hold and drag to reorder. The move up / move down menu items are gone.
Aligning a widget now snaps to the grid. Pick your home screen layout (4×5, 4×6, 5×5, 5×6) to show the grid lines, and the frame snaps to a cell when you let go.
Frosted glass is a real gaussian blur now: the wallpaper is read and blurred, and the patch behind the widget cropped out of it. The outline is gone and the tint is more solid.
Grant wallpaper access under Settings → Widget background (All files access on Android 13 and later), and drag each widget into place once.
New Frosted glass widget background, now the default: translucent tint, a highlight along the top edge and a fine outline, darkening by itself in dark mode. Settings → Widget background switches back to a solid colour.
Routine timers gain cycle countdowns, for the Claude 5-hour and weekly allowances. Each shows how long until the next reset and the time it resets, rolling into the next cycle on its own.
Tap once at the start of a cycle to line it up; the start time can also be edited in the app.
Routine timers are purely timers now: no reminder period, no progress bar, no turning red when overdue — just how long since you last did each thing.
New Routine timer widget. Showers, skincare and the like show how long since you last did them, and a tap starts the count again.
A reminder period can be set (the entry turns red once overdue), a mistaken tap can be undone within five minutes, and the last time can be backfilled or corrected in the app.
Upgrading from v0.2.x needs this version installed by hand once. After that the app updates itself.
Flags no longer appear in the widget or on the settings screen.
First release: the live exchange rate widget. Updates every 15 minutes, with the icon at the top right for an immediate refresh; tap the title to edit currency pairs.
